Island Spirit 37 - Scubacat

Fortuna catamarans are now concentrating on production of their flagship design Island Spirit 37 and have introduced some modifications to this already successful craft. The Island Spirit is the most spacious catamaran for its length of any similarly sized catamarans in the world. The space created by the extra space between the bulkheads puts many larger catamarans to shame.

There is a roomy, comfortable cockpit which is fitted with storage compartments and leads fluidly into the deck with molded toe rails and an anti skid finish. There are sugar scoops on the aft transoms which provide easy access into the azure waters of the Caribbean. The decks, coach roof and trampoline provide endless sunbathing space.

The Island Spirit has ample sail area ensuring she ‘comes about' sharply and sails well. The arrangement of the deck gear makes sail handling easy. All of the controls are positioned closer to the wheel and the steering is light and responsive. Auxiliary power from the 2 x 27hp diesel engines make close quarter maneuvering stress free.

The Island Spirit's interior finish is simple for a light, airy feel. The saloon includes a chart table and navigation center and plenty of seating. There is a 2 burner hob/oven, a sink and draining tray, with pressurized hot and cold water. The side opening refrigerator is front opening and there is also a separate top loading freezer box.

The hull has 2 walk-past heads with showers, toilets and basins and 4 double staterooms. Each stateroom has a wardrobe and lockers and is entirely private and isolated from the other parts of the boat. They all have sufficient port lights to provide a through-draft on warm nights.

Scubacat is epitome of spaciousness and comfort and is a perfect cruising catamaran.
