There was one thing I probably should have known but didn't and I think they assumed I'd know.that caused the need for a battery jump

I always love the BVI's

No, Joann was wonderful. She was basically available 24/7 and followed up promptly with every question and request.

I had 3 "Virgins" on the boat along with myself and 2 others who had done it before, and I didn't hear any complaints from anyone. The BVIYC base is pretty spartan but they seem to be able to do the job. We had a couple problems that we caused ourselves and 1 that was a boat problem, but they were very accessible for questions and when needed, quickly sent a Chase boat. I hope to be able to do a few more charters before I get too old and decrepit to do it and i would certain use Joann to book it for me and would defintely consider BVIYC as the charter company next time.
I just wish I was sending this from the BVI;s instead of back at work.

The BVI Yacht Charters staff were exceptional. They took the time to make good recommendations and were truly concerned that we would have a good time on our first cruise in the BVI. We had a small problem while in Marina Cay with our shower bilge pump. They sent someone out to repair the problem within a couple hours and really provided outstanding service. Looking forward to sailing with them again in the near future.

1. Were the staff at BVI Yacht Charters friendly and accommodating?
Yes. Both the office staff and dock staff were very friendly and helpful with anything we needed or had questions about.
2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
The yacht was very clean and in reasonable working order. There were a few issues with the working conditions, but that is to be expected with any charter. BVI was very interested in any areas the yacht needed to be serviced and was eager for us to bring any to their attention.
3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
Yes. The kitchen was well stocked with all necessary cooking supplies.
4. Was the boat well ventilated?
Yes. There were plenty of hatches & windows to open for fresh air. We only had 1 breeze booster however, and more may have been helpful.
5. Did the staff at BVI Yacht Charters do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?
Yes. We had a very good yacht check-out and excellent chart briefing. If we had any additional questions while underway, the cellphone was always available.
6. Did you like the area you cruised?
Very much and plan to return in the future.
7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?
VI Sailing did an excellent job. The one thing that could have been helpful that turned out to be a pleasant surprise, would have been knowing that BVI Yacht Charters was going to meet us at the ferry dock with a cab for transfer, and that they provide someone to help transport us around for provisioning.

Accomodating - yes; friendly - yes with a caveat. We felt we were taken care of but not like we were an important guest.
2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
Clean - yes; good working condition - yes, but with items for attentions including: frayed jib line, intermittent functioning anchor light, non functioning cockpit light and outlet, hull requires cleaning, low battery storage, poor output flashlights, binoculars were unusable.
3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
Yes very much so.
4. Was the boat well ventilated?
Yes and the AC was more than adequate.
5. Did the staff at BVI Yacht Charters do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?
Yes. More time could have been offered and spent on electronics and GPS.
6. Did you like the area you cruised?
Yes - the best!
7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?
No. Your company and Joann in particular, was outstanding in follow up and at being proactive. I would recommend you anytime.

Anegada was worth the sail.
Very good and knowledgeable pre departure briefing.
Prompt attention and response to needs.
I would use BVI Yacht again if they addressed some of the minor issues I noted.
Here are some suggestions that would of made us feel more welcome.
1) A cold welcoming drink or bottle of water would start the experience off right.
2) A small departing gift such as chocolate, flower, wine or something of local flavor put on the boat.
3) A personalized bon voyage note from anyone would be meaningful.

Yes, although the estimate of 1/2 gal per hour of engine fuel usage was way too conservative. It's a little less than 1 liter per hour.

I think the cancellation insurance policy was not well enough explained. Mostly my fault I guess for not reading the fine print well enough and fortunately we did not need it.

Boat needed a bottom scrub. Various navigation instruments were mis-calibrated (depth, speed, wind direction, digital compass) - none of this was a problem but still less than ideal.
Overall out experience was very good.

Very much so-we especially appreciated being able to stow our luggage with you after the charter and your recommendation to hang out at Taramind Bay until our evening flight took off!

For the most part, though one head had not been cleaned

Yes
4. Was the boat well ventilated?
Yes-good fans. We didn't need to use the wind catchers (not that there was much wind last week )

YES! BVIs are perfect for cruising

Yes, except our batteries were not charging properly. They came out to meet us and made a repair. And, freely offered to give us a discount on the fuel charges because we had to run engines and batteries so often.
