BAREBOAT CHARTER REVIEW

Name: Mr. John Nathan
Yacht: Beneteau 393 "Delphinus" with BVI Yacht Charters - Road Town, Tortola
Charter Dates:
1/14/12-1/21/12 with a sleep aboard 1/13/12
Broker:
Joann Higgins
Area Cruised:
Virgin Islands

We hope your charter lived up to your expectations and we are eager to have your evaluation and impressions of your yachting vacation. Please answer the following questions and add any comments you may have.

1. Were the staff at BVI Yacht Charters friendly and accommodating?

yes, especially Joanne, Chris and Anthony

2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?

yes--but see comment below

3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?

yes

4. Was the boat well ventilated?

yes

5. Did the staff at BVI Yacht Charters do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?

yes, except for the GPS, which remained a mystery

6. Did you like the area you cruised?

yes, except for the 30+-mph winds! (Not your fault!)

7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?

no; the staff was very helpful and thoughtful

8. May we post this review on our website?

Yes

9. Additional comments on your charter?

We had several small problems with the boat, including a non-working CD player and speedometer, a aft head drain (in the floor) that left the floor perpetually wet, and cockpit cushions that made it difficult to get around the steering wheel, We also had problems raising both jib and main, but that may have been our fault for not keeping the boat "perfectly" into the wind; we never had that problem on other boats, however. Both nights we slept in the boat in Tortola, we had VERY loud "creaking" noises from the mooring lines that we couldn't silence. A few more towels would have been nice; ours were wet and "used" right from the first. ~John

We hope your charter lived up to your expectations and we are eager to have your evaluation and impressions of your yachting vacation. Please answer the following questions and add any comments you may have.

1. Were the staff at BVI Yacht Charters friendly and accommodating?

Yes, they were great! The boat was ready when we arrived for our sleep aboard.

2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?

Yep, the air and boat lights were on, beds were made, towels were available.

3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?

Yes. The only issue was we had a microwave instead of a stove. They were going to change it out but we didn't feel like waiting around the dock. Ended up not being a big deal, who doesn't like muffin pancakes?!?

4. Was the boat well ventilated?

The back cabin was a little stuffy due to lay out. When you ran the engine it got pretty hot.

5. Did the staff at BVI Yacht Charters do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?

Yes, they did a great job!

6. Did you like the area you cruised?

Yes! We ended up going to Scrub for a night and Peter Island for an evening. Both were fablous!

7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?

No, you all were great giving choices and helping with my booking!

BAREBOAT CHARTER REVIEW

Name: Mrs. Alison Arce
Yacht: Beneteau 311 "Lazy Days" with BVI Yacht Charters - Road Town, Tortola
Charter Dates:
12/11/11 - 12/17/11 with a sleep aboard 12/10/11
Broker:
Melody Delgado
Area Cruised:
Virgin Islands

We hope your charter lived up to your expectations and we are eager to have your evaluation and impressions of your yachting vacation. Please answer the following questions and add any comments you may have.

1. Were the staff at BVI Yacht Charters friendly and accommodating?

The staff was fantastic. Abby answered all of our questions and resolved all of our concerns.

2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?

The yacht was extremely clean. The gas gauge was broken and really needs to be fixed.

3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?

We found that the pots and pans didn't cook on the cooktop very well - they were thin on the sides so it was difficult to cook evenly. There was definitely sufficient cooking utensils and accessories - we didn't need a thing that wasn't there.

4. Was the boat well ventilated?

Yes, we didn't even need the windscoops.

5. Did the staff at BVI Yacht Charters do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?

Yes, they did a good job explaining the yacht to us, and were always available to answer any questions we had during the sail.

6. Did you like the area you cruised?

It was gorgeous. We are already planning a second trip to see everything we missed.

7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?

I can't think of a single thing that you could have done that you did not.

8. May we post this review on our website?

Yes

9. Additional comments on your charter?

This was my first charter, although my boyfriend has sailed before. We had the trip of a lifetime aboard the Lazy Days. The information provided was comprehensive, and it made us feel secure about our trip in that we didn't need to do anything other than enjoy ourselves! I can assure you that Virgin Island Sailing will be my very first call when we are ready to book our next trip!

BAREBOAT CHARTER REVIEW

Name: Mr. William LaFrance
Yacht: Beneteau 31 "Sapphire" with BVI Yacht Charters - Road Town, Tortola
Charter Dates:
10/8/11-10/18/11

Yes - extremely

2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?

Clean yes, but the diameter of the control line for the roller furling jib was too large and the reel jammed. Also the main was very difficult to raise. Also battery power was inadequate so the engine had to be run every 7 hours, Also no anchor or nav lights were operational. Also mag compass needed calibration - off by as much as 30 degrees on certain courses. It seemed like we may have been the first to operate this boat and so we had the fitting out cruise. All this said, we had a pleasurable cruise.

3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?

Yes - fine.

4. Was the boat well ventilated?

My brother in law had the aft berth and was hot all the time. The boat does not have a hatch for the aft cabin, so not sure anything can be done about that. I found the V berth to be fine.

5. Did the staff at BVI Yacht Charters do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?

Yes.

6. Did you like the area you cruised?

Yes.

7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?

No, you did a nice job.

8. May we post this review on our website?

Yes

We hope your charter lived up to your expectations and we are eager to have your evaluation and impressions of your yachting vacation. Please answer the following questions and add any comments you may have.

1. Were the staff at BVI Yacht Charters friendly and accommodating?

They were wonderul

2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?

The boat was very clean and most thinkgs blow worked with the exception of the micorwave. Above deck, the anchor, steaming , nav and steaming lights did not work. all the instuments worked except the wind direction and windspeed

3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?

We had all we needed for 7 days of full cooking. A small whisk broom would be nice

4. Was the boat well ventilated?

yes

5. Did the staff at BVI Yacht Charters do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?

yes theydid. The females on the boat wold have liked a better "walk thru" of the light locations, and cooking utensils. the guys did not care as long as there was beer.

6. Did you like the area you cruised?

It was wonderful

7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?

I think there is a much less expensive place to buy provisons at a super market right by BVI Charters. I thnk they deliver also.

8. May we post this review on our website?

Yes

9. Additional comments on your charter?

I think BVI Charter is a great company. They were very resposive to our requests. We rented a captain for one day. Because of a new child he showed up at ~10:20am and had to be back at 3pm.

BAREBOAT CHARTER REVIEW

Name: Mr. David Woods
Yacht: Jaguar 36 "Charisma" with BVI Yacht Charters - Road Town, Tortola
Charter Dates:
7/31/11-8/6/11 with a sleep aboard 7/30/11

Yes

2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?

Interior was clean, but bottom of hull was rather fouled. Also, some panels and ceilings in the cabins were coming loose. Some hinges need replacement.

3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?

Yes

4. Was the boat well ventilated?

Yes

5. Did the staff at BVI Yacht Charters do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?

Yes, but some written instructions would have been useful, for example, on the electrical system.

6. Did you like the area you cruised?

Yes, very much!

7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?

(see below)

8. May we post this review on our website?

Yes

9. Additional comments on your charter?

Charisma was comfortable, and we all enjoyed our charter very much, but her sailing performance was a bit disappointing. I realize that this is mainly due to manufacturer's design (although the fouled hull was indeed a factor), but some sort of "sailor's review" on each boat would be nice for any potential charterers.
