Yes, they were wonderful and took the time to really go over the boat and answer all questions.

Yes. Everything worked perfectly and the fridge was the coldest I've ever seen on a boat!
3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
The cooking equipment was great. It may have been nice to have a sponge/scrubber for the dishes but that is minor.
4. Was the boat well ventilated?
Yes. We never even needed to turn on the fans.
5. Did the staff at Conch Charters do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?
The best pre- departure we have ever had.
6. Did you like the area you cruised?
Yes. Visted Yost for the first time and it was our favorite!

This was our first time using Conch Charters and they were fabulous. The boat was in perfect working order and the staff were very knowledgable and easy to understand. The location of Conch was easy to depart from and we even had an issue where our boat hook broke and they delivered a new one to us by that same afternoon. The sleep aboard was easy to do and a great bargain. They even gave us a ride to the market for free. Wonderful staff and very good company to work with. Our only complaint was no dodger on the boat. We should have asked and will definately make sure our next boat has one as it really enhances the use of your cockpit. Conch Charter gets an A+ rating from us!

The engine broke a throttle cable. I called VI Sailing and received prompt response. Our location was 15 miles from base. A mechanic arrived via speed boat with 1.5 hours, fixed the problem promply. Yes - very. Excellent in advance and on site...chart briefing very thorough and valuable / customized to our needs. Could not be better !
2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
Very clean and most things worked ( not the chart plotter or wind speed indicator - but that did not matter)
3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
Yes - well enough equipped for the week with 5 people cooking and drinking most of the time. We needed a lot of ice but that was our choice to not use the engine much as the sailing was so great. Did not use the oven. BBQ mount was loose so we BBQ'd on the back deck ( using oven tray for protection ) We told Conch about this at the end. The BBQ is essential equipment !
4. Was the boat well ventilated?
Mostly - the forward head was a little stinky and had to be constantly ventilated as we sailed. Other than that it was in great shape.
5. Did the staff at Conch Charters do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?
Yes - they were quick and efficient and we felt very comfortable taking it out....and afterwards. No problems at all.
6. Did you like the area you cruised?
What is not to like in paradise ? It was spectacular ! We can't wait to return. Christmas in Virgin Gorda was especially fun....great buffet breakfast at the Bitter End.
7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?
No. You were great !!! Just the right amount of info, not intrusive ( the cruising guide was very usefull) and excellent prompt service for first timers.

It was our first bare boat charter in the BVI and it exceeded our expectations... Cannot recommend you, Conch, and the area highly enough. Despite the high season we could find lots of places to get away from everyone else and always found safe anchorage. The snorkeling and beaches are awesome. Glad I brought an underwater camera. The Navioncs app that I had bought for my iPad was excellent for navigation and keeping the track - we have a permanent record on Google Earth showing where we went. Last night splurge at Cooper's Island resort for dinner was extremely nice ! The view of the sunset through the palms with the lights of Tortolla in the background is spectacular. We now have a recurring addiction to "painkillers" ! A wonderful vacation ! We will return.

I did ask for information about the boat, and it was more difficult to obtain than I would have liked (refrigerator size, etc.)

I felt the chart briefing could have been a litle better; I am sure that there was information provided to me (chartering book, etc.) that contained what I needed to know, but I did make a mooring mistake (attached to a red day-only ball) that affected a night's sleep due to proximity of neighboring boat. I think specifically that touching on the various ball colors & associated rules would have been beneficial.
Tropical Storm Irene affected us; we had to pay for hotel for 2 nights while the storm passed - this was good & bad (significant extra cost, but we were safe, and enjoyed the time on land). Traveling during hurricane season; to be expected I suppose! I had opted to avoid paying for trip insurance; my own decision/risk.

Yes, even so the weather was not really as usual in the Caribbean! Too much rain and not enough wind!

The Yacht was only superficial clean. (Toilets and showers were o.k.)
Instruments not working: Built in GPS; meter for fuel; Speed meter,
The water pump did sometimes not switch off, even so the tank was full and water pressure established.
Three hatches did leak when it was raining.
All in all the Yacht seems not be maintained properly for quite a while.
But the boat is fast and easy to sail! The Dinghy was perfect including the outboarder.

Yes. Ross and Emma were particularly helpful and friendly
2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
Very good. Engine start button at helm quit working just as we prepared to start charter. Conch offered to repair, yet we declined due to delay it would cause. Were able to start engine with alternate start button on engine that Conch had previously installed in engine space - good thinking on their part.
3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
Yep
4. Was the boat well ventilated?
Great ventilation
5. Did the staff at Conch Charters do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?
Very well done...despite being pressed to brief many other charterers the morning of our departure.
6. Did you like the area you cruised?
Absolutely. Spirited sailing in NE 18-22 kts, gusts to 28 between from Soper's Hole to JVD in 5-7' seas. Great sail into Gorda Sound with 15-20 kts on the beam. Favorite spots included Privateer Bay, Norman Island; Great Harbor, JVD, and Leverick Bay, Virgin Gorda.

You provided great service and cleared up confusing issues quickly.

This charter turned out to be a fantastic 60th birthday gift adventure for our eldest sister. Our crew of eight (four siblings, a niece, a nephew, and two significant others) had plenty of space on the 5-cabin Gibsea 525. The boat was comforable for all - even two few boating first-timers. All crew chipped in with great cooking for fabulous and fun meals. We sailed in varied conditions with plenty of pleasure and excitement for all. Super attitudes and teamwork from all crew helped keep the fun-o-meter in higher digits. Snorkeling was fantastic everywhere and excursions ashore added great variety. The trip to Spanish Town and The Baths via Tiger's Taxi from Leverick Bay was fantastic. There was wide agreement that we'd have to return to the BVI and do this again....and again.

All were GREAT, but a younger tall blonde gal did get a little salty with me about cell phone!! A little Rude!!! All others GREAT, especially Ross in pointing out info on Boat.
2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
YES, but boat didn';t look the best from the bottom paint missing?? Needed a little TLC
3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
Yes, The table in cockpit leaves a little to be desired! Very small and could be replaced.
4. Was the boat well ventilated?
Yes
5. Did the staff at Conch Charters do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?
Yes, Ross did a GREAT JOB and pointed out everything. We did have trouble calling into Channel 16, 12, &11 to hale coming in. ALso Phone # listed in ship's book is incorrect.
6. Did you like the area you cruised?
GREAT
7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?
I don't think so! We have been there before a NS and we went to them anyways as I have sailed for 32 years!!!

I would use Conch Charters again, but not with the same boat!! All the other boats were newer and much better looking. If I owned CC I would take this boat out of service for it's looks!! By the way their name "Conch Charters" is on the Boom!!

Yes. Everything was in good condition. I had to tighten one door knob and that was the extend of problems.

Yes. This boat had excellent ventilation

Only one minor issue on service. The person giving the boat brief came by at 0800, but we were finishing breakfast at the time. She said she would be back in 15 minutes. 3 1/2 hours later, we finally got the boat brief. In the mean time we and our checkout skipper waited and didn't set sail until around noon. We could have been on the water at least an hour or two sooner with a timely boat brief.

yes, for some reason the staff charged us again for the BVI permits etc at checkout. When I returned the boat and showed them my contract they refunded my money cheerefully.
2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
It had some problems with a missing turning block, inoperative boom vang, dingy motor with a electrical ground problem and a partially blocked head. The boat was clean and functional.
3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
yes, but could have used a scrubber, dishwashing liquid and bathroom soap.
4. Was the boat well ventilated?
yes
5. Did the staff at Conch Charters do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?
yes, although with three boats wanting to leave early and the holidays they were a little rushed.
6. Did you like the area you cruised?
yes, delightful
7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?
a sample menu plan, clothing tips and tips about the cost of food and meals out would have been helpful.
