BAREBOAT CHARTER REVIEW

Name: Mr. and Mrs. Erik Pfahler
Yacht: Jeanneau 44i Premier with Sunsail - Road Town, Tortola
Charter Dates:
6/25/10 - 7/3/10
Broker:
Melody Delgado
Area Cruised:
Virgin Islands

We hope your charter lived up to your expectations and we are eager to have your evaluation and impressions of your yachting vacation. Please answer the following questions and add any comments you may have.

1. Were the staff at Sunsail friendly and accommodating?

Yes,

2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?

yes clean, mostly in working condition however, a few annoying issues: salt water in the bilge, broken hatch, bad stereo cockpit speakers, port side head shower didn't operate properly

3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?

yes, fine

4. Was the boat well ventilated?

Pretty typical for a mono

5. Did the staff at Sunsail do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?

yes generally

6. Did you like the area you cruised?

yes very much, it was our third year in a row.

7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?

yes possibly next year

8. May we post this review on our website?

Yes

9. Additional comments on your charter?

The boat was pretty worn out for a "newer premium boat". We would recommend Sunsail provide better more comfortable cockpit cushions. Our biggest aggravation was their policy requiring us to take the boat at 6:00 pm and spend the first night in the marina. We wasted a day of sailing. If Sunsail continues this policy we will most likely go elsewhere for our future charters. We had another great family vacation.

BAREBOAT CHARTER REVIEW

Name: Mr. Peter McGraw
Yacht: Jeanneau 39i with Sunsail - Road Town, Tortola
Charter Dates:
6/27/10 - 7/4/10

They were largely very friendly and accommodating

2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?

The yacht was spotless and there were only a few issue (hatch missing screws - fixed before departure), the front head sink float switch was broken (this was not identified until at sea when the water from the sink would remain in the space, we stoped using the sink) and the outboard would not run for more than 5 minutes (they replaced it while underway)

3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?

We minimally used the interior stove due to heat and never used the oven. The grill worked adequately but was somewhat small.

4. Was the boat well ventilated?

Fairly well, the large hatches in the forward berth and main salon worked as wind stops. We could have used the 2 wind scoops more

5. Did the staff at Sunsail do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?

They did an adequate job

6. Did you like the area you cruised?

The area was great

7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?

Nope, you answered all my questions, got me a good rate and great boat

8. May we post this review on our website?

Yes

9. Additional comments on your charter?

Sunsail and Virigin Island Sailing gave us what I expected. The boat sailed and handled very well. The motor was great when needed. The provisions were ample if not too much. When I do it again I will fly through Beef Island vs St Thomas. If summer time I will get a boat with shore AC, the first night was rough (hot, humid and humid).

6. Did you like the area you cruised?

Yes!

7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?

No, you guys were fine, will charter again in 2-3 years. Would like to go every year if possible!

8. May we post this review on our website?

No

9. Additional comments on your charter?

Sunsail need to ensure there are no leaks with hatches, the captain got very wet during rainstorm, and tried to move cabins but the other was worse. He never complained, but it was not good for him and all his stuff to get soaked the second night. I'd like sunsail to make this right. Cheers Jason

9. Additional comments on your charter?

We travel on American Airlines as space available guests and a large part of our piority for seats is determined by our check in time for departure. The Reception Clerks did not comprehend this and tried their best to lump us in with reservation holding passengers. We could not get them to comprehend this system of travel.
