1. Were the staff at TMM Tortola friendly and accommodating?
They were very accommodating.
2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
The yacht was clean and for the most part in good working order. I was a little disappointed with the water fauset problem we had on the port side of the boat. A wire braided line from the port head fauset broke (I believe day 5). When we investigated the problem if was very evident that this was not the first time the line had leaked (previous repair made with electrical tape) Problem with this is who made the previous repair TMM or a previous charter.
3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
We found the cooking and cleaning equipment was everything we needed
4. Was the boat well ventilated?
Ventilation was great. Winds were 15 to 20 kts the entire week.
5. Did the staff at TMM Tortola do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?
Yes very thorough.
6. Did you like the area you cruised?
Wonderful
7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?
I don't believe there was. Again please pass on our thanks to management and the staff.

I would like to pass on that TMM charters exceeded my expectations at every turn. Even the couple of small problems we encountered were dealt with quickly and professionally. I intend to return in the near future to do it all over again.

Substantially. Just a small problem with the inverter on the last day and the keys wouldn't lock up the cabin (we used a window).

Very clean. The yacht had a fresh water leak.More on that below.

Yes.

The salon A/C cooled the air but moved very little air. The cabin A/C fan moved much more air.
5. Did the staff at TMM Tortola do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?
Yes.

We loved it.

The fresh water leaked in two places, the line coming out of the water heater. Because of that, we were out of fresh water in less than 24hrs. So, we had to dock for water twice. I called TMM and I had already been able to fix one leak. On Tuesday, Dave at TMM said that James in the chase boat would come and fix the 2nd leak. I talked to them around lunchtime, told them where we were. No problem I was told, we'll be there. They didn't come or call to say they weren't coming. The next day, the leaking fitting completely blew apart so we had no water pressure. I called TMM again and they came. By the time they got there, I had stopped the leak myself by bypassing the water heater inlet line, putting a pencil in the hose and clamping down on the pencil. When they came they substituted a socket extension for the pencil. I know things break, but they shouldn't say they are coming and then not show or call. At checkin with Jacque (sp?) he said I'll check into it. No more info.

Yes, very much so. Alex went over the vessel with us and he was excellent.
2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
Yes, very clean, and in good working condition other than one issue (see #3)
3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
The only problem we had was that the cooktop did not work properly. TMM came out and fixed one burner but did not have the part for the other.
4. Was the boat well ventilated?
yes

Yes, as mentioned in #1.
6. Did you like the area you cruised?
Yes and we need to go back as we still have many good spots to see.

TMM was generally very responsive to our one call for assistance. Their was a communication break down on getting the repair man out to visit, but once he came out he did a good job. They even sent a second man out the next day to fix the second burner but he didn't have the right part.

Yes, the only problem was a GPS nav console on the blink, but the staff brought in a replacement and got it working right away.

Yes very much so. It's my first use of propane on a boat, and with the oven it was certainly an improvemnt on the alcohol stoves I remember from years past
4. Was the boat well ventilated?
Ventilation was good, but as always there is a conflict between ventilation and safety while sailing. Evening ventilation was good with all hatches open, and hatches sealed well
5. Did the staff at TMM Tortola do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?
Yes, the walkthrough was rapid but effective.
6. Did you like the area you cruised?
Very much. We were lucky to have very good sailing weather, so our sailing bug was quite satisfied.

provisioning was short , bill was not, waited for missing items while replacing water pump and belt

Traffic has increased substantially in the past decade! Does not add to enjoyment/relaxation when frequently concerned about right of way while sailing and room for safe anchorage. Can envision a lottery system for yachting space eventually. Will need to preserve the resource as all systems become more taxed. Fresh water, seafood, and space are finite.

Yes, Sam and Jaque were very friendly and accomodating. Even tried to bring us our luggage that Delta lost/delayed.

Yes, with the exception of minor problems, to be expected.

Yes, however, as in the past, we sometimes had some problems with the refridgerators

Yes.

Yes. Weather was great, did lots of sailing! Got up to Anagada this time and had great lobster dinners.

Not much air circulates thru the main cabin. It only has one window.
5. Did the staff at TMM Tortola do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and it's equipment?
Yes. TMM demanded a "test sail" for that, but easily could have been done at the dock.
6. Did you like the area you cruised?
Yes. Wish someone would have advised that "low season" means "everything is closed" 4 anchorages we sailed in had absolutely NO services, nothing open.
7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?
Aside from pre-knowledge of points 5 and 6 above, no. Everyone was very helpful and accomidating, and responses were fast. Thanks!

Boat was great. Clean. Sailed well. Everything worked. Islands and anchorages were also great. TMM staff was very helpful and accommodating.
Two minor points. 1) "briefing" time was heavily weighted to "safety" briefing (which could have been done in less time). Shorter safety brief would have allowed more time for "chart" briefing, which for a first time charter in BVI would have been much more valuable, and something more than "here's our recommended plan." 2) The "boat book" included great details on national parks moorings and locations of paid overnight moorings. For planning purposes, it would have been great planning help (augmenting the cruising guide) to get copies of these four pages included with the paperwork package that TMM sends in advance of the charter.

Some lights not working but in reasonable shape.

Galley was well stocked.

Yes... they had issues with another client which caused them a longer time than expected but they quicly recognized what we needed and knew.
6. Did you like the area you cruised?
yes beautiful, easy sailing wonderful snorkling.
7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?
The main issue was with the initial CYOA charter. I did not receive options that fit my need and I had already committed to arriving in St Thomas. The change cost me $300 more for the charter and $500 more for shifting to Tortola.

cooking equip was fine. needed a little more cleaning stuff, this will help you in the return of boat.

Loved it.. followed you agenda and could not be more pleased

as mentioned before, the only thing that bothered me was the gps. galley helm gps did not work and flybridge gps did not have chip.. as someone new to area, and used to much better gps's I was a little concerned . but all went well.. loved the cruise!
