It was clean and in working order but tired and near the end of it's viability for chartering

The boat was adequate but had some defects: torn covers, lockers not closing properly, instruments not working, rotting sole, broken roof stanchions etc. Near the end of it's viable cruising life without a major refit.

1. Were the staff at VIP friendly and accommodating?
Yes, very much so
2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
The boat only had Sears type refrigerators, AC power only. These should be replaced with marine AC/DC refrig's. If you have to start the genny to cool down the AC fridge, you might as well be recharging the batteries to operate a DC fridge. An AC/DC fridge might be a $1000 vs 200 for an AC only, but this is a small cost considering the cost to charter the boat. It really took away from the experience as we had a lot of food that we could not keep frozen
3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
The boat was clean, but really needs a wax job. It probably has not been waxed in 10 years. It had rust stains going down the side, etc. This made the boat stand out as an "Ugly Duckling" among all those shiney new catamarans from other charter companies. The electric stove did not work very well. You had to light 3 burners to get one to work (fire hazard?). Also, the VHF radio did not work, which I believe is a Coast Guard violation.

Yes, beautiful

Be more familiar with the specific boat we are chartering. For example, we asked repeatedly about the freezer capacity, but just assumed it was a marine AC/DC fridge. Would have not charterd that boat if we knew it only had an AC fridge

None of the indicators worked. Overall very clean, except there was a very bad urine odor in the heads permeating the cabins.

no...couldn't open hatches, had to run air conditioning
